Improved Heat Resistance and High Impact Toughness
PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By optimizing the chemical composition to meet the desired properties for additively manufactured items, the advantages of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. This allows for high impact resistance of printed parts, along with excellent tensile strength and significant stiffness typical of PLA-based materials. The modified chemical structure has improved the material´s flowability, making the filament suitable for industrial use where good mechanical strength, high printing efficiency, and above all, the ability to increase print speed are required.
Annealing
This is a process in which the temperature is increased to enhance the product´s strength, heat resistance, and ductility. The temperature that the model must reach is called the glass transition temperature. PLA Pro filament can be treated at high temperatures using a heated chamber. Once crystallized, it exhibits increased thermal resistance (up to 85"C) and almost double the resistance of standard ABS. Annealing is suitable for parts with simple shapes where increased mechanical strength and tensile strength are required.
* Uneven heating may lead to unexpected deformation and suboptimal performance of printed parts. The typical annealing time for parts with a wall thickness of about 3.2 mm is approximately 20 minutes.
