Improved Heat Resistance and High Impact Strength
PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By adjusting the chemical composition to meet the demands of additive manufacturing, the benefits of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. This allows printed parts to achieve high impact resistance, tensile strength, and substantial stiffness – typical for PLA-based materials. The modified chemistry improves material flow, making the filament suitable for industrial applications requiring strong mechanical properties, high printing efficiency, and especially the ability to increase print speed.
Annealing
Annealing is a process in which the temperature is raised to improve strength, thermal resistance, and product ductility. The temperature that the model must reach is known as the glass transition temperature. PLA Pro filament can be heat-treated using a heated chamber. After crystallization, it features increased thermal resistance (up to 85"C) and nearly twice the strength of standard ABS. Annealing is suitable for simple-shaped parts where higher mechanical strength and tensile force are needed.
*Uneven heating may lead to unexpected deformation and suboptimal part performance. Typical annealing time for parts with ~3.2mm wall thickness is about 20 minutes.
