Improved Thermal Resistance and High Impact Toughness PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By orienting the chemical composition of the material to achieve satisfactory properties required for additive manufactured objects, the advantages of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. It is therefore possible to achieve high impact resistance of printed items with high tensile strength and substantial stiffness, typical for PLA-based materials. The modified chemical composition improved the material’s flowability, making the filament suitable for industrial use requiring good mechanical strength properties, high printing efficiency, and especially the ability to increase print speed.
Annealing is a process where the temperature is increased to improve the strength, thermal resistance, and ductility of the product. The temperature that the model must reach is called the glass transition temperature. PLA Pro filament can be treated at high temperature using a heating chamber. After crystallization, it features increased heat resistance (up to 85"C) and almost twice the resistance compared to standard ABS. Annealing can be used for parts with simple shapes where increased mechanical resistance and tensile strength are needed.* Uneven heating can lead to unexpected deformation and suboptimal performance of printed parts. The usual annealing time for parts with wall thickness of approximately 3.2mm is on average 20 minutes.
Key Features:
