Improved Thermal Resistance and High Impact Toughness
PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By orienting the chemical composition to achieve satisfactory properties required for additively manufactured objects, the advantages of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. It is thus possible to achieve high impact resistance of printed items with high tensile strength and substantial stiffness, which are typical for PLA-based materials. The modified chemical composition has improved the material´s fluidity, making the filament suitable for industrial use that demands good mechanical strength properties, high printing efficiency, and especially the ability to increase print speed.
Annealing
This is a process in which the temperature is increased to improve the strength, thermal resistance, and ductility of the product. The temperature the model must reach is called the glass transition temperature. PLA Pro filament can be treated at high temperatures using a heated chamber. After crystallization, it features increased thermal resistance (up to 85"C) and nearly twice the resistance of standard ABS. Annealing can be used for parts with simple shapes where increased mechanical resistance and tensile strength are needed.
*Uneven heating can lead to unexpected deformation and suboptimal performance of printed parts. The usual annealing time for parts with a wall thickness of about 3.2 mm is approximately 20 minutes.
Key Features:
- A good alternative to styrene-based materials
- Extremely high impact resistance compared to classic PLA materials, with impact resistance 50% higher than ABS
- High durability comparable to ABS
- Higher process capacity due to the ability to increase print speed (as a result of improved fluidity)
- Better layer adhesion allowing smoother side surfaces

- Functional prototyping
- Tools
- Conceptual and demo prototypes of designed products and semi-finished goods
- Industrial design
- Parts requiring high impact strength
