Durable and impact resistant. Among the specific properties of Smart ABS filament are high impact resistance and relatively high stiffness. Compared to classic ABS filament, the “smart” variant shows improved processing parameters that significantly reduce the difficulties associated with additive manufacturing using standard ABS. Essentially, this means less shrinkage and reduced emissions of irritating volatile substances during processing. An undeniable advantage is that the material retains its properties at temperatures down to -40"C.
Key features: high impact resistance and stiffness while maintaining relatively high dimensional accuracy, high gloss of the outer surface, reduced deformation ratio (0.5–0.7%), temperature resistance (HDT 85"C), good interlayer adhesion especially when using a printer with a heated chamber, water absorption, easy post-processing (sanding, drilling, cutting).
Applications: production of all kinds of covers, guards, and other similar items exposed to impacts, the possibility of mechanical treatment allows manufacturing items that facilitate and assist installations, e.g., handles, rulers, gauges, end parts, industrial design, tools, custom components.
