Enhanced Heat Resistance and High Impact Toughness
PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By tailoring the chemical composition of the material to meet the desired properties for additively manufactured objects, the advantages of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. This allows for printed parts with high impact resistance, high tensile strength, and substantial rigidity, which are typical for PLA-based materials. The modified chemical structure improves material flow, making the filament suitable for industrial applications that require good mechanical strength, high printing efficiency, and especially the ability to increase print speed.
Annealing
Annealing is a process where the temperature is increased to improve the strength, heat resistance, and ductility of a product. The temperature that the model must reach is called the glass transition temperature. PLA Pro filament can be treated at high temperatures using a heated chamber. After crystallization, it offers improved heat resistance (up to 85"C) and nearly double the resistance compared to standard ABS. Annealing can be used for parts with simple shapes where enhanced mechanical durability and tensile strength are desired. *Uneven heating may lead to unexpected deformation and suboptimal performance of printed parts. The typical annealing time for parts with a wall thickness of approx. 3.2 mm is around 20 minutes.*
