Enhanced thermal resistance and high impact toughness
PLA Pro filament is a material based on modified PLA. By adjusting the chemical composition to achieve desired properties for additively manufactured items, the advantages of PLA and ABS have been successfully combined. This makes it possible to achieve high impact resistance of printed parts, while maintaining high tensile strength and substantial stiffness typical for PLA-based materials.
The altered chemical composition has improved the flowability of the material, making the filament suitable for industrial use requiring good mechanical strength, high printing efficiency, and above all, the ability to increase print speed.
Annealing
This is a process in which the temperature is increased to enhance the strength, heat resistance, and ductility of the product. The temperature the model must reach is called the glass transition temperature.
PLA Pro filament can be treated at high temperature using a heated chamber. After crystallization, it exhibits increased thermal resistance (up to 85"C) and almost twice the impact resistance compared to standard ABS. Annealing is suitable for parts with simple shapes where we want to improve mechanical strength and tensile force.
* Uneven heating may cause unexpected deformation and suboptimal performance of the printed parts. The typical annealing time for parts with a wall thickness of approximately 3.2mm is around 20 minutes.
