Spectrum S-Flex 85A is a filament based on thermoplastic polyether polyurethane. In the field of additive manufacturing, S-Flex 85A is a material characterized by a relatively easy and trouble-free 3D printing process. Another advantage that enables perfect prints is the very good adhesion of the first printed layer to the build platform, regardless of whether it is made of glass, steel, plastic, or another material. Low processing shrinkage and high flexibility significantly reduce the risk of so-called edge warping of printed parts. The distinguishing feature in the filament name 85A relates to the hardness of the material on the Shore scale and classifies Spectrum S-Flex 85A in the category of hard elastomers. This property reduces the risk of filament deformation in the feeding system leading the material to the print head during the 3D printing process. This allows for slightly faster printing compared to other, more compliant elastomers.

Parts printed from Spectrum S-Flex 85A are characterized by very high resistance to hydrolysis (a type of degradation caused by the presence of water), good recyclability, and very good resistance to dynamic forces. Thanks to these properties, it is possible to print 3D parts that protect surfaces exposed to impact (bumpers, edge protectors), sealing and protective elements with high chemical resistance, and also thermal insulators.

Key properties: high resistance to hydrolysis, up to 650% elongation at break, Shore-A hardness 85, high resistance to tearing and tensile stress, low shrinkage, resistance to many common industrial oils and chemicals, reduced number of chains during printer inactivity.

Applications: manufacturing seals with high chemical resistance, production of objects used as energy absorbers, functional parts, all kinds of bumpers, vibration dampers, protective cases, snap-fit parts, sleeves, hinges, bumpers and flexible spacers, sealing parts with increased stiffness, spring damping elements for use in machinery and modeling, flexible belts with high strength, covers and cases for various devices.

Filament specifications: filament diameter: 1.75mm/2.85mm, extrusion temperature: 200-230"C, bed temperature: 50-70"C, print speed: 20-70mm/s.
